Waiting List for a place in a UW dormitory – 2026/2027 academic year [UPDATE: 2.09.2026]
Category: 2026/2027, Dormitory
If you were unable to secure accommodation in a dormitory or to submit an application during the first or second round of the USOSWeb procedure, do not worry – you still have a chance to be allocated a place in one of our seven student halls of residence.
The form (see below) must be completed only once, using your student account (e.g. @student.uw.edu.pl).
How does the waiting list work? At the end of each day, the waiting list is ranked according to the following criteria:
How to apply for the waiting list?
To register on the list, you must complete the form. The form collects all the necessary information for the allocation of places in the dormitories:
- Select your status at the University of Warsaw (UW student or doctoral student);
- Enter your student ID number – please note this is not the number from the Internet Recruitment for Candidates System (IRK);
- Provide your name and surname to ensure proper identification;
- Provide an email address within the @uw.edu.pl or @student.uw.edu.pl domain – this is the address to which you will receive information about your accommodation allocation;
- Answer the question regarding social scholarship – indicate whether you were granted a social scholarship in the 2025/2026 academic year;
- Enter the full address of your permanent residence or accommodation – this will be required to calculate the distance from the UW;
- Specify the distance from your place of residence to the University – enter the distance to ul. Krakowskie Przedmieście 26/28 in Warsaw (you may use, among other tools, Google Maps for this);
- Indicate whether you currently reside in one of the UW dormitories – this will help us assess your housing situation and, where possible, issue a referral to the dormitory in which you currently live.
What happens after registering on the list?
We understand that the beginning of the academic year can be a time of uncertainty and stress for many, particularly with regard to accommodation. Please be assured that we are doing everything possible to allocate the available places in the dormitories as quickly as we can.
We will not be publishing general lists – each person to whom we are able to allocate a place will receive a direct email from us. If you have not yet received a message, this means that, at that moment, we do not have an available place to offer you. We kindly ask for your patience – the waiting list is updated on an ongoing basis. As soon as a place becomes available, we will contact the next person on the list. Places become available when someone declines an allocated place or fails to pay the reservation fee within the deadline.
Accommodation and payments
If your application is accepted, you will receive an email at the address provided in the form. The email will contain information about the reservation fee and the deadline for moving into the student residence. Your place will be confirmed once you have paid the fee. Please be aware that failure to pay the fee or to move in within the specified deadline will result in the forfeiture of the place. If you wish to reapply for a place in a student residence in such circumstances, you will need to join the waiting list again.
