I have got a place in a dormitory and what’s next? – academic year 2024/2025 [UPDATE]
Category: Dormitory
[Entry refers to general pool]
II ROUND:
On 10th September, dormitory places were awarded in the II round (for students admitted for 2024/2025). Places were awarded using an algorithm that took into consideration all points earned by a given student or doctoral student.
Reservation fee
Congratulations on getting a place in the dormitory! Remember that starting this year, a reservation fee has been introduced, which you must pay to keep your dormitory space. Each person who received a place must pay a reservation fee. No payment will automatically mean loss of seat!
Note! If you are check-in before 19th September, pay the reservation fee before the date of accommodation.
Below you will find a list of account numbers to which you must pay the reservation fee, including the amount.
Payments made after 19th September 2024 will not be accepted and will be returned to your account and your seat will be lost, so we recommend you don’t leave it to the last minute.

I ROUND:
On 25th July, dormitory places were awarded in the I round (for current students and doctoral students). All those who applied and received a minimum of 10 points were given a place in one of the student dormitories.
You must pay the reservation fee by 5th AUGUST 2024 (applies only to current students who received a place in the first round). BPM cannot extend the deadline for payment. The reservation fee deadline is based on the Regulations of the UW Student Houses.
Payments made after 5th August 2024 will not be accepted and will be returned to your account and your seat will be lost, so we recommend you don’t leave it to the last minute.
GENERAL INFORMATION:
I am satisfied with the dormitory granted!
Congratulations! Most of you have received the dormitory you chose first or second on your preference list. Once you have received a positive result, you do not need to take any further action other than paying the reservation fee.
I am unsatisfied with the dormitory granted!
We are very sorry. If you are not satisfied with the allocated place in a given student house, you can use the exchange market. You can find the exchange market in the same place in USOSweb where you can find, among other things, the application for a place in a student house (Common section –> Applications –> Application for a change of an assigned place in dormitory – exchange market). The way the exchange market works is very simple, for example: if you want to exchange a place in DS3 for a place in DS5 in the exchange must participate the person who received a place in DS5 and wants to live in DS3.
Important! The Student Welfare and Support Office UW does not make exchanges of places.
Next step – accommodation!
For accommodation, please report directly to the dormitory where you have a place – accommodation is possible from Monday to Friday, between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. In DS7, accommodation will also be possible on Saturday (28 September) and Sunday (29 September), between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m.
If you want to live in a dormitory earlier, contact the student house in question to make sure it is possible*.
*the exception is DS 7, where it is not possible to move in early. In this case, it is possible to stay temporarily in DS 3 or, if available, in a guest room in the dorm where you are currently living.
If you have been given a place in DS7 and need accommodation from 16th to 28th September 2024 in DS3, please report your request to bpm@uw.edu.pl.
Important
- Rooms are distributed by the administration of the dormitory during check-in. Please note that most rooms are double rooms and, as a rule, this is how students are accommodated.
- When checking in, remember to bring 2 photos and an identity document (such as a passport or student ID) with you.
- Are you wondering what you’ll get during your accommodation? Take a look at our dormitory tab and see for yourself.
- Remember! Not accommodating by the deadline will result in the loss of the reservation fee.

If you wish to obtain a certificate for your visa, please contact us by email (bpm@uw.edu.pl). Please write “Certificate for visa” in the title of the message. Please include your index (album) number in the body of the email or your admission decision at the University of Warsaw.
Note! If you are already living in a dormitory and would like to obtain a certificate of residence, please contact the administration of your dormitory.
I’ve paid the reservation fee already – will I have to pay an additional deposit at check-in? I am currently living in a dormitory and have already paid the deposit in the previous academic year. Do I have to pay the reservation fee now? Who is the recipient of the transfer? I’m a 1st degree graduate and I am recruiting for a 2nd degree program. I received an email regarding my dorm allocation, but I don’t see which specific dorm I was awarded. What should I do? I’m going on Erasmus in the winter semester, but I’ll want to live in a dorm when I return in the summer semester. Should I pay a reservation fee?
No. The reservation fee introduced this year also functions as a deposit.
Yes, each person must make a reservation by paying the reservation fee. The deposit paid in the previous academic year will be refunded upon reaccommodation for the upcoming 2024/2025 academic year.
The recipient of the transfer is the specific dorm, so if you need confirmation of your transfer, please contact the dorm directly.
Write to bpm@uw.edu.pl. You will only get access to all USOS functions when you re-enroll in the system, therefore you cannot see your application.
No, in that case, please contact us by email to give up your seat for the upcoming semester. Please also contact us in December to reserve your place for the summer semester.
