How the waiting list works
After each day, the waiting list is ordered according to the following priorities:
- First, places are given to students who receive a social scholarship;
- Next, places are offered to students who live the farthest from the University of Warsaw.
How to join the waiting list?
To sign up, you need to fill out the form. The form collects all the necessary information to allocate dormitory places. While filling it out:
- Select your status at UW (student, doctoral student, visiting trainee at UW);
- Provide your full name – so we can identify you;
- Enter your student ID number – please note this is not the number from IRK;
- Provide your email address in the @uw.edu.pl or @student.uw.edu.pl domain – this is where you will receive your dormitory allocation information;
- Answer the question about the social scholarship – indicate whether you have been awarded a social scholarship for the 2024/2025 academic year;
- Enter your full permanent home address – this will be used to calculate the distance to UW;
- Specify the distance from your place of residence to the University – please calculate the distance to ul. Krakowskie Przedmieście 26/28 in Warsaw (you can use Google Maps for this);
- Choose your faculty – if you study at more than one, select the one where you want to have priority in allocation;
- Indicate whether you are currently living in a UW dormitory – this will help us assess your housing situation and, if possible, assign you to the same dormitory.
What happens after joining the list?
We know that the beginning of the academic year can be stressful, especially when it comes to accommodation. Rest assured, we are doing everything we can to allocate free dormitory places as quickly as possible.
We will not publish general lists – each person to whom we can allocate a place will receive a direct email from us. If you haven’t received a message yet, it means that at this moment we do not have a free place to offer you.
Please be patient – the waiting list is processed continuously. As soon as a place becomes available, we will contact the next person on the list.
Free places will become available when someone resigns from their assigned spot or fails to pay the reservation fee on time.
Accommodation and fees
If your application is accepted, you will receive an email at the address provided in the form. We will send you details regarding the reservation fee and your move-in date. Your spot will only be confirmed once the reservation fee is paid.
Please note that failure to pay or to move in on the designated date will result in losing your place. To reapply, you will need to sign up on the waiting list again.
