Everything you need to know about applying for a place in a Student House – academic year 2022/23

The end of the summer semester is not only a session, but also time to submit applications for a place in the student dormitory. Here are some of the most important information that everyone who wants to apply for a place in a dormitory must remember.

Applying – how to apply, what documents are needed?

The application for a place in the student dormitory should be submitted via the USOSweb. After logging in to the USOSweb (remember not to use the faculty USOSweb for this purpose!) Select Common Section, then Applications, select Housing application 2022/2023.

Important!

Do not postpone the submission of the application. Applications will be verified and considered in the order in which they were submitted. Participation in the round is guaranteed only to those who submit a complete set of documents no later than 14 days before the given round. This means that applications submitted at a later date may take part in a given round, but this is no longer guaranteed.

Time limits for assigning places

Seats are awarded only on the days of each turn. The algorithm for assigning places is described in detail here: https://bpm.uw.edu.pl/akademik/. The Student Welfare and Support Office does not change seats. They are only possible through the Exchange of seats.

The application may be submitted:

from July 1, 2022 for current students and doctoral students, as well as doctoral students enrolled in the first year of education at the doctoral school;
from July 22, 2022 for students admitted to the first year of all types of studies.

Applications for a place in the student dormitory will be considered on the following dates:

ROUND I: July 25, 2022 – current students and doctoral students (also for students of the 3rd year of first-cycle studies who plan to continue their studies at the University of Warsaw);
ROUND II: August 19, 2022 – students admitted to the first year of all types of studies (uniform master’s degree, first and second cycle studies);
ROUND IIa: August 31, 2022 – doctoral students admitted to the first year of education at the Doctoral School;
ROUND III and IV: ~~September 1 and 10, 2022~~ September 9 and 23, 2022 – in the case of vacancies, all students and doctoral students who apply through the USOSweb for the re-allocation of a place.

Attention: Due to many requests, the dates of the third and fourth rounds of examining places for a residence hall have been changed. The third round will take place on September 9 (instead of September 1). The fourth round will take place on September 23 (in case of vacancies).

Accommodation in student dormitories

Persons who will be granted places in student dormitories will be able to stay in the period from September 15 to October 7, 2022.

Exchange of places

Students and doctoral students can exchange their allocated places in student dormitories on the stock exchange via the USOSweb from July 6 to September 14, 2022. Seats will not be exchanged other than through the exchange.
