Category: Social scholarship

The beginning of the summer term is a time to remember to apply for a social scholarship – it should be done by those who already receive it (remember, it is granted for one semester only, not for the whole academic year!) and those who would like to apply for this form of support. Here is some important information in connection with the possibility to apply for the summer term 2022/2023, which starts on 21 February 2023.

[If you have not applied for a social scholarship in the winter term 2021/2022]

  • STEP 1: Complete the 2021 income statement in USOSweb (Tab COMMON SECTION – Applications).
  • STEP 2: Apply for a social scholarship for the summer term of the academic year 2022/2023.

[If you applied for a social scholarship in the winter term but did NOT receive one]

  • STEP 1: Only submit an application for a social scholarship for the summer term of the 2023/2022 academic year.

When completing the social grant application, on the [Supplementary Information] screen where the student’s statements are listed, tick all statements that are factually correct. It is particularly important not to make a statement at the same time that the material situation has NOT changed and has changed.

[If you received a scholarship in the winter term]

In this case, do not fill in an income statement for 2021. Only submit an application for a social scholarship for the summer term of the academic year 2022/2023 in USOSweb.

[What if I have applied for a social scholarship and the income in my family has changed since then?]

If your income or the composition of your family has changed, and you have already applied for a social grant in the winter semester, you should write to: bpm@uw.edu.pl or to the coordinator in your unit with a request to allow editing of the income statement. This will allow you to improve your income statement and add documents confirming the changes as attachments to the income benefit for 2021.

A change in income may have occurred as a result:

  • obtaining the right to parental leave;
  • loss of unemployment benefit or scholarship;
  • loss of employment or other gainful work;
  • loss of pre-retirement allowance or pre-retirement benefit, teacher compensation benefit, as well as retirement or disability pension, the survivor’s pension or social pension, or parental supplementary benefit referred to in the Act of 31 January 2019 on the parental supplementary benefit (Journal of Laws of 2019, item 303);
  • loss of sickness benefit, rehabilitation benefit or maternity allowance to which a person is entitled after losing employment or other gainful work;
  • loss of parental benefit;
  • loss of maternity allowance referred to in regulations on farmers’ social insurance;
  • loss of the doctoral scholarship specified in Article 209 sections 1 and 7 of the Act of 20 July 2018 – Law on Higher Education and Science

and also as a result of:

  • beginning or ending of a childcare leave;
